L.A.B.2 Make Up Brushes.

Today I am going to introduce you to a brand that I had never heard of until I kindly got the chance to review their brushes. The company is L.A.B.2.  which actually stands for live and breathe beauty. Now I was kindly sent 3 different sets of their brushes; the triple threat multi-purpose brush, the Strokes Of Genius Brush Kit and the I'm Turning Pro Brush Kit. Now this review is definitely well overdue but I wanted to really test out the brushes and as I don't wear make up every day, it definitely took me longer to decide whether I liked them.

The Triple Threat Multi-Purpose Brush: I've never actually owned a multi-purpose brush until I received this one, so I wasn't really sure what to expect. The purpose of this brush was to apply powder blush and bronzer for a full, buildable coverage. The brush has FiberLuxe™ Technology to provide superior pigment pick-up and optimal release. Personally I didn't see any superior pigment when using this brush and I wouldn't say it gave full buildable coverage. The brush has also got a soft touch handle for extra grip and comfort which I also personally didn't see the difference. I personally wouldn't pick this brush up again if I ever needed a replacement because I didn't see a difference. This brush retails at £11.99 but I believe Superdrug currently have a offer on so you may be able to get it for £8.99.

Strokes Of Genius Brush Kit: I was really excited to receive this kit as it has eye brushes in and I love new eye brushes to create new looks. The purpose of this kit is to provide you with a 'premium quality' that gives precise application for all eye products and is meant to give you a professional result. I really liked this kit and most of the brushes were good. I liked using the eyeshadow brush as it did distribute the eyeshadow evenly onto my lids and brow bone if I were using a light shade. I also really enjoyed using the crease brush as it allowed me to soften harsh lines for a more natural look. I also loved the brow and lash groomer, I definitely enjoyed the brow groomer the most as it combed my brows and left me with a nice shape. I also liked the brow and eyeliner brush but I found that it was a little too hard so at times it made my brows look very harsh and dark and so I had to apply the product very slowly and lightly. The pointed eyeliner brush for me was a huge disappointment and I found it hard to apply my eyeliner with this. Overall the kit wasn't too bad. This kit retails for £18.99 but I believe Superdrug currently have a offer on so you can get this kit for £14.99.

I'm Turning Pro Brush Kit: I was also really excited about receiving this kit as I wanted to compare it to my Real Techniques brushes. This kit is a set of 4 essential brushes that are designed for flawless, high definition make up application. I really liked the foundation brush, I personally liked using it more for concealer more than foundation but it left a lovely finish. I personally don't think it's as good as the Real Techniques foundation brush but this brush is still good. I really liked the buffing brush too, I used this brush for my application of my power and I wouldn't say it gave me 'full coverage' like it states but it gave a nice application but not quite airbrushed. My favourite brush out of this kit is definitely the contour brush. It did give me subtle definition and the shape of it allows you to really get into the hollows of your cheeks. Again, I liked the eyeshadow brush in this kit too as it gave an even application of the eyeshadow. This kit was definitely my favourite out of all of the products I received. This retails for £18.99 but I believe Superdrug are currently selling it for £17.99.

All L.A.B. 2 Brushes are made with love, there are no animal derived components and they are hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested. I found that these brushes also wash and dry well. I probably wouldn't personally repurchase these brushes but they are definitely not the worst brushes I've used, I found with some of the brushes the hairs did come out and got stuck in the foundation or concealer which was a little annoying but other than that they aren't the worst but they aren't the best I've ever used.

Have you tried L.A.B.2 Brushes?

What I Got For Christmas 2015

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well. Today's post is going to be about what I got for Christmas and as always I'm just putting a disclaimer out there, that I am in no way bragging about the items I have received but I just simply wanted to share what I got with you all. I'm going to try and link as many items as I can but some of them might not be possible. I've actually unpackaged most of my items but most of them came in sets.

French Connection Eye Perfection Collection - Includes an eyeliner, a brow pencil, a mascara, a eyeshadow brush, an eyeshadow palette, tweezers, cream eyeshadow, primer, sharpener and eyelash curlers. I'm really looking forward to trying out their make up because I didn't even realise they sold make up. Review to come in 2016!

Collection Extreme 24 hour felt tip liner in black - I was so happy to receive this, if you didn't already know this is my favourite ever felt tip eyeliner and it is honestly the best. Mine dried up a few months back and I never got round to purchasing another one but now I don't have to because I have a brand new one. It's so affordable but so good.

Eylure Brow Pencil in No.20 Mid Brown  - I've never tried any products from Eylure but I was excited to see this. I have to admit, I'm not really one of those people who have 'on point brows' but I try to make them some what presentable. I'm not sure if my family were trying to hint at me but I shall simply carry on with my brows as normal with how I shape them etc. Normally I use my eyebrow kit from Beauty UK to do my brows so a brow pencil is definitely something new to me and I cannot wait to try it out and see if I prefer it.

Nails Inc - Not quite sure on the colour and it is a smaller size but I love the colour.

The Body Shop Lippy Star Wand - This is the second year in a row that I've got the fruity lip balms from The Body Shop. They really are lovely and they always look so cute when they are packaged.

The Body Shop Moringa Body Butter - I love a good body butter and I think everyone in my family knows this and so I have yet another body butter to add to my collection. I tend to use body butters a few days before I fake tan or with a gradual tan just to give me more moisture and it means I can have a nice smooth application.

Nivea Minis for Her Gift Set - Deodorant, lip balm, shower crème and a moisturiser. I really loved this little set and it is perfect for travelling. This was a really practical gift and I love Nivea.

Elegant Touch Supernova Nail Set - Now I'm not really a fake nail person, I'm not really a nail person. It's one of those things that I find a 'chore' and I just simply don't find the joy in painting my nails although these nails are very unique and pretty, so I shall give them a go and I will have a review up about them in 2016.

Cath Kidston Nail File - Couldn't find a link but it is very pretty.

W7 The Nudes Palette - This is a lovely travel sized palette with all very 'me' colours. I'm definitely a simple girl when it comes to eyeshadows and this palette is really lovely, so I'll be sure to review it.

I'm not quite sure where the phone case is from but I'd like to say Tesco.

New Look Necklace - I'm not sure that there's a link for this necklace but you might be able to find it in your local New Look store. It's so gorgeous and it goes with anything!

I'm not quite sure where the bracelet or the other necklace is from but they are all very pretty.

Now you may have noticed from about Summer this year that I have really been getting into candles and my friends and family have definitely got the hint this year. I feel like I'm obsessed with candles now but at least I have something to help me relax and something that will make my room smell amazing.

The Body Shop Frosted Plum Candle - Although I took a photo of the box the round way round so it's not in English, this is a lovely candle. I've been wanting to try a candle from The Body Shop but then I never had the chance to pick one up but this scent is absolutely incredible.

Yankee Candle White Linen and Lace - Then my best friend kindly got me a Yankee Candle and I nearly cried! I love Yankee Candles and I think it's such a luxury that I now own one and the scent is one of my favourites. So I am a very happy gal and cannot wait to burn this.

Chocolate Brussel Sprouts - Now I did get a lot more chocolate than this but I've been sharing it all with my family so I decided not to feature the rest but look how amazing these chocolates are! They are a massive joke, seen as I hate Brussel sprouts but I'm sure I'll enjoy these.

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Polish - I believe I tried this last year and I really enjoyed using it. I had run out of all my body scrubs and body polish and so I was happy to receive this and I love The Body Shop.

The Body Shop Frosted Plum gift set - I did get a bath sponge thing with this set too but I'm not quite sure where it's gone but this gift set is gorgeous, although I do believe it's not available anymore so I think it might have been limited edition for Christmas.

The Body Shop Glazed Apple gift set - I have been wanting this set for quite a while and felt so happy when I received it. The tin is really cute and I love how the products inside are all travel sized so they will be great to take away with me, if I end up going away. My love for The Body Shop grows year by year and my family definitely knows. Again, I couldn't find a link to this set so I'm not sure if it was just limited edition for Christmas.

Impulse Body Fragrance - Tease, Romantic Spark and Into Glamour. Again, if you know me, you'll know I absolutely love Impulse body sprays. I have these in all of my bags and they go everywhere with me. My favourite is definitely tease but I do love the smell of all of them.

The Body Shop Owl Sponge - Again another item from The Body Shop, this is just a fun owl sponge and it's a great little stocking filler.

Lush Little Snow Fairy Set - I absolutely adore Lush and I was lucky to receive a Snow Fairy gift set. I managed to get Snow Fairy last year for Christmas and I have to admit, it's not my favourite scent ever but again everything is travel sized and so it's good for if you are going away. In the set it also had the 'fun' product and it's pink so I cannot wait to try it.

Lynx Attract for her Duo Gift Set - Just to add to my amazing collection of things to make me smell nice, I also got a Lynx gift set which includes a shower gel and a body spray and so I'll be sure to let you know if I like it.

Primark Pyjamas -  Possibly the worse ever angle for a photo but I currently look like a zombie but beside that, I have a new pair of Primark pyjamas and I honestly think they're the best ones I've had to date. They are so comfy, so cosy and just lovely.

Strictly Come Dancing Tickets - Yes that's right. My last Christmas present I received was a Strictly Come Dancing Ticket and I cannot wait to go to Leeds and watch it. This will be the first kind of 'experience' present I've ever got and I'm honestly so exciting and it's next month. Stay tuned because I'm sure I'll have a post going up about it.

So that's everything I got for Christmas! I'd love to know in the comments everything you got for Christmas so do let me know or put a link down below to your 'What I got for Christmas 2015' posts.

I hope you all continue to have a lovely Christmas break!

Merry Christmas from ThePerksofMeg

Hello everyone. I know it's been a while since I last posted but I've had illness after illness and also I've had assignments to do for college but hopefully come the new year, I will be back in full spin as I have lots of exciting posts coming your way. As I say all the time, thank you for your support for my little blog on the internet. Your comments and you just simply reading my blog means the world to me. I hope you've all had a lovely Christmas and although ideally this post should have gone live yesterday, I just simply didn't have time.

So this is probably the shortest post ever but I am hoping to post at least 2 more times this year before 2016! I'm planning on trying to get a 'What I got for Christmas 2015' post up but the natural lighting is just not having it but I shall try my best. I know a lot of people are quite put off by posting what they got for Christmas and I still debated whether to do it but when I do this post, it's not so I can brag about what I've got, it is simply to share with the internet some of lovely products/items that I got and it may give inspiration. I personally love reading those types of posts because I'm super nosey and it makes me lust after so many products that my bank balance just won't allow but nevertheless I love seeing what other people have received. In my eyes, it's not about the gift, it's the thought that counts but I do love sharing and reading what people have got.

So I hope you continue to have a lovely Christmas!

Struggle with online shopping? Size Styler could be the solution for you!

Hello everyone. So today's post is in collaboration with Size Styler and without further ado, I shall get on with today's post.

Size Styler is a brand new game changing website and is set to revolutionise the way clothes are bought.

I know from personal experience, how annoying it is when you cannot get clothes to fit you. I've tried so many pairs of jeans on from various shops and they differ from place to place. In one store I can go in I can't even get the pair of jeans past my thighs, yet I'll go to another store and the exactly same size is too big and are falling off me. Have you ever experienced this?

When you look at the chart above, you can clearly compare UK sizes in different stores. It really is quite shocking how a size 10 is actually a different size in other stores depending on the retailer. Looking at the chart, it really proves the struggle on why we don't know what our exact size is and this is a real pain when it comes to online shopping. Online returns are very high for this reason and Size Styler is designed so that retailers have lower returns when selling online. 82% of women think shops should be clearer about their sizes.

Mike Bailey could not understand why sizes were so different between retailers and why universal sizing wasn’t possible across the UK retail landscape. He wanted to find a solution as to why UK consumers were forced to remember their size in each store. And so Size Styler was born!

After over 15 years in fashion retail, working for beautiful brands such as Liberty and Net a Porter, Mike decided to solve this problem for shoppers.
Size Styler works by taking your body measurements in a simple process that takes moments and then allows you to shop from items that will fit you properly. Size Styler could be your life saviour. I know it'll definitely be mine! Over the months and even years, the amount of items I've had to return through online shopping is quite astounding and so I'll definitely be using Size Styler in the future when online shopping.

If you have the same struggles that I do then Size Styler is definitely something you should have a look at as it could be your happy solution to not having to return items as much when online shopping.

Until next time!
