August favourites │ The Perks Of Meg.

Hello everyone!

So it is the end of August and I don't really have many favourites this month. I have finally got my results from results day and I will reveal those to you in a post in September.

I have been loving most things that have a creamy consistency this month. I have loved removing my make up with the REN Rosa Centifolia Hot Cloth Cleanser. Personally I love the scent of it - it smells of turkish delight and it is such a dream. Within about 5 minutes this product has taken my make up off completely. With this product I know that my skin/pores will have been cleansed therefore I am less likely to break out. This is £16.00 so it isn't too bad because it really works however I am always looking out for a cheap alternative.

Another product I have liked this month is The Body Shop Tea Tree face mask. I am not going back on my review that I did here. As I wouldn't repurchase this but as I need to use it up I thought I may as well start using it now. It has been really cooling on my skin and has made my face look a little brighter. Luckily this month it hasn't broke me out. It doesn't work wonders like the other products in the Tea Tree Range but I thought I'd use it up. This product is £10.

A haircare product that I've been loving this month is the OZ botanics major repair deep conditioner. I had never heard of this brand but was looking for a really good deep conditioner as I use heat and dyes on my hair and so I like to keep it in as best condition as possible. All you do is keep this product on for 3 minutes and then wash it out and then you have lovely, soft, luscious locks. This product is only £1.00 and is so worth the money.

A nail varnish that I've been loving recently is by Beauty UK. Now I don't think this nail polish has a name or number but it came in this set here. I love this colour so much and you only need 2 coats.

The last product I've been loving this month is the thrrrob face powder from Benefit. At £23.50 it is quite an expensive product. It's so worth it though. It gives such a natural blush and colour to your face and just makes me feel really confident.

So there are my August favourites folks! What have your favourites been this month?

MAC Creme D'Nude lipstick dupe.

Now when I say dupe I basically am giving you a personal opinion of what I believe is a close match to Mac's Creme D'Nude lipstick.

I believe that MUA's matte totally nude lipstick is a dupe for the MAC Creme D'Nude lipstick and with the price tag of only a £1 it is a true bargain.

Do you have an dupes for any MAC lipsticks?

Maybelline Baby Lips │ Review. ♥

Hola!

So today I thought I would do a review on Maybelline Baby Lips which has had a lot of 'hype' and even though I might be a year or so late with this review I am going to tell you why I don't think it's worth the 'hype' and how I was disappointed with this product.

Here are my two Maybelline baby lips: Mint Fresh and Intense Care.

You get quite a lot of lip balm which is good and the packaging is nice.

This is when I first purchased them.

Advantages
- You get quite a lot of the lip balm.
- The packaging is nice.
- The names are okay.
- I like the variety of different lip balms/names.
- Smell nice.

Disadvantages
- They were more costly than my normal lip balm, my normal lip balm is normally £0.99 to £1.24 and I was a bit apprehensive about paying £2.99.
- They don't give 8 hours of hydration.

Even though there is a lot more advantages I feel like if I'm going to pay £2.99 for a lip balm I want it to work, I want it to do what it claims and these just don't do it for me. They don't hydrate my lips and they are overrated. I know people say they prefer the coloured ones e.g. pink punch however I prefer clear lip balms even though I have mostly coloured ones and these just disappointed me far too much. I have found a use for them so that they don't go to waste and that is that I'm using them before I apply a lipstick so that my lips are not rough and dry. However I will not be repurchasing this and I wouldn't recommend them. When you see lots of reviews saying how good they are and then you buy one/two and they aren't up to the standard they are claimed to be at, you do get very disappointed.

What Maybelline baby lips have you got? What is your opinion on them?

Thanks for reading!

Rimmel 25 Hour Foundation │ Review ♥

Howdy!

You may have seen my 2true foundation vs Rimmel 25 hour foundation post back in January but if you haven't you can check it out here.

You can get the Rimmel 25 hour foundation from Superdrug currently for £4.99! Normal price: £7.99. Buy here.

Nice bottle and stands out. This foundation claims that it is sweat, heat and humidity
proof for 25 hours.
The back has all the needed information and is very cute.
This bottle has an easy pump dispenser which is so much easier to work with as you only get the
amount you want.

Left - When you apply it.
Right - When you rub it in.
This foundation is in the shade 100 - IVORY.
Advantages
- Fits my skin colour perfectly
- Good coverage
- Never have to reapply it and on my oily areas (T-zone) it doesn't become oily.
- Nice bottle and stands out.

Disadvantages
- Can look darker near the cheekbones/eyes.

Rating out of 10: 9/10

Overall I was very happy with this product as I have been searching for a good cheap(ish) foundation and as you can see the advantages show lots of positives. I'm not sure whether the foundation looking darker near the cheekbones/eyes is a common problem or not but that is what happens to me every time I apply it.

Have you tried this foundation? What did you think? What are your favourite foundations?

*Catseye London - Getting ready for back to school.

Well it's nearing ever closer to going back to school. I'll be in year 11 and it's going to be such hard work. As you probably know I got my results a couple of days ago and I will share them with you soon. Anyway, I'm going off track. The lovely people at Catseye London have sent me some items to help me get ready for back to school. My main problem is I love stationary so much and I always tend to get a little carried away.

All my items came in separate bags like this one above, personally I think this is a great idea and if you do buy something as a gift for someone it is basically all wrapped up.

Now the first thing I came across was this *Pug iphone shell 4/4s case and although it's technically not stationary, it does make my phone look super cute. It is so easy to put on and I've had so many compliments.

The next thing I got was a *Pug Document Sleeve and you may be wondering why I got this. Yes I got this one because it matches most of my other things and it is really cute but I also thought it would come in handy as when I have homework, I get homework. I can get up to 7 pieces a week and yes I have my planner but if I keep all of my homework in one place, I will be organised.

The next adorable item I got was not pugged themed but it does have a Terrier on it. It is the  *Terrier on red little notebook.   It is the cutest thing and so handy if you are out and about. I may keep blogging things in that one, which leads me on to my final thing...

My final item is the *Pug A6 Notebook which will definitely come in handy for making notes like TO-DO lists and what not and again it is the cutest thing - I have matching stationary so all is good.

I would like to thank Catseye London for sending me these lovely items and they will be my favourite part of my stationary.

I am all ready for back to school, but are you?

*DISCLAIMER: All these products have been sent for review purposes only, all opinions stated are 100% honest and my own.

The Rules about Reading │ The Perks Of Meg.

We all like a good read once in a while, yes? I especially love reading. I love reading blogs, reading books and magazines, the list goes on. Recently I have read Divergent - I haven't read the other two books of the trilogy but I am going to at some point. So it had me thinking, what rules should I set myself while reading. I am always putting a book down and starting another, so I have decided to set myself some rules that I shouldn't break.

- When I'm commuting, going on holiday or to the park take a book with me.
- Read one book at a time
- Never skip ahead
- Speed reading is OK to do.
- Pick/read books that interest you and not what you think you should.
- Never just read a book because 'everyone is' unless it is the type of book you read.
- Books and e books are equal
- Take a (short) break in between books so that you don't get confused when re-telling the story.
- Tell people about the book you have read
- Think about what you've read - it helps you imagine everything so much better.
- Well loved books look well loved
- It's OK to reread books.
- While reading make sure it is silent.

What are your rules while reading?

New Look Haul #1

So today I have a New Look Haul for you because now that it is summer, I end up spending too much money on clothes. I have labelled this '#1' because I already have another 2 Hauls that are New Look to show you. I keep moaning to myself by saying that I have far too much black in my wardrobe which to be fair is correct. So I thought I would give it a burst of colour with this little haul. All prices will be listed at the end of this post. Now I ordered all of this online and collected it in store which I will never collect from a store again, it was so hard and they asked for ID. Long story short they were so rude to me. I bought these clothes with the £40 gift voucher my work placement gave me.

Hola, it is my very small wardrobe. I have other draws but this is basically my wardrobe. Here you can spot some of my new clothes from this haul, a woolly onesie and denim oh and lots of dark clothes.

Firstly I bought this skirt which I love. It's black but has flowers on it and it just gives it a pop of colour and it is so comfy.

The next thing I purchased was this stripy top and I love it. I love the colours and it is so comfy. It is slightly see through but we can deal with that.

Next I have my black jumpsuit, I definitely can't resist buying black clothes. It kind of looks like harem pants but I promise when it's on, it looks nice.

Next I got a grey bird print dress which is so flimsy and light and I just love it.

The last thing I bought was this kimono. Now I've been after a kimono for quite a while so when I spotted this for £12.99 I knew I had to have it. Again it is black but is floral so you have a pop of colour.

Coral stripe ½ sleeve boxy jersey top – was: £9.99 I paid: £2.55
Tall Grey Bird Print T-shirt Dress – was: £14.99 I paid; £4.25
Black floral print midi skirt – was: £14.99 I paid: £5.10
Black Jersey Ruched Bandeau Jumpsuit – was: £19.99 I paid: £14.50
Black Floral Kimono - £12.99

I'd link you to these items but they were sale items online except for the Kimono and there isn't a link for any of them.

I hope you've enjoyed this haul.
